First Unity Project

So  I finally decided to learn unity and Java and after a few days of learning I decided to start up my first project called Monster portals.

Here's a quick concept image of the UI/Layout.

Setup a test UI with some my own sprites and art from a previous projects. Currently writing up the basic monster AI and HUD code to spawn in monsters and cast spells.

I'm intending on using a rather new animation format if possible which goes hand in hand with the software developed for it Spriter. If you haven't heard of it already and are interested in 2d animation it's well worth checking out. http://www.brashmonkey.com/ A lot faster than using 3d skeletons and allows for dynamic skeletons/IK's and also bone scaling.

A good arting start to the year

This month I've spent some time to get back into regularly painting and drawing. Most of the Late December and early January has been spent working on my Warcraft 3 Mod which oddly enough encouraged me to paint with intous 3 again. Many of the textures weren't right for the mod so I repainting higher resolutions of a few and painted different versions for several unit models and ground tiles.

After Carrying on doing some Uscript on my CardGame framework prototype I got inspired to do some Panorama shots of the different colour themed Landscapes.

These are the 3 character paintings which have brought me back into painting for the Warcraft 3 mod, each a commander in my mod http://www.moddb.com/mods/advance-wars-steampunk-rising
I have working cutscenes with these implemented, however not in the public demos I've released. Not because there are issues but because the cut-scenes are triggered with the commander powers which haven't been balanced/full implemented yet. I intend to finish them but for now I'm trying to make a push on pieces for my portfolio.
